little art
I have always loved stamps. Not that I want to collect them in a book or buy rare stamps and handle them with tweezers. I like to use them for projects and this is my last little handful so I just ordered 1000 more. Now that we use sticker stamps they aren't as fun as the old variety, maybe I should get a collectors book.

Distrations
Sometimes I get focused on my projects and I am gone, I forget everything and emerge into another world. This isn't always very good because nothing else gets done. People ask how I do it all, and I tell them, "Know one can do it all, priorities change and something else isn't getting done, there is a sacrifice or compromise somewhere." Usually for me I sacrifice housework for the day and have to catch up later, and kids get a lot of TV time and dinner may or may not get made and everyone has to fend for themselves.

labor of love
Today I set out with a friend to pick peaches. The farm we went to had nothing to pick so we decided to check out the road side stands. Sure enough we found one with peaches and bought every one. The plan was to pick and then wait a few days for the perfect ripeness but since these had been picked earlier they were ready to bottle today. Here are the fruits of our labors. They are a labor of love because honesty I can buy them at the store a lot cheaper and Costco actually sells them in jars like these and taste very good. Our cost $4 each for the peaches, sugar lids and rings, we had the jars. If we add in the time it took to prepare the peaches and jars and process them in the water bath we can tack on a few more bucks per jar. Canning is not cost effective unless you have your own fruit. Would I do it again? Absolutely! It is fun to get sticky, it is fun to admire the beautiful colors in the jars and will be a wonderful treat come winter and best of all I had a great time with my friend. Thanks Christa for the fun afternoon, we'll tackle tomatoes next, they are pretty in a jar as well.

Rainbow of Flavors
I needed a picture of some candy for another project I am working on. I usually turn to istock photo for pictures I don't have myself but today when I looked at all the pictures of candy I thought to myself, "Just take your own", so I did and it was fun. I am actually working on a collection of close up pictures as a board book for babies, the candy pictures will be a great addition.

One for the records
We all have photos we look back on and think to ourselves, my mom dressed me in THAT! Well it isn't always the mom who dresses the child, in fact his father dressed him in a nice outfit this morning and somewhere during the day he lost his britches and was wearing his diaper for a while, when he decided to play outside I send his sister to get him some pants and this is what she brought back. SO.... you never really know why you are wearing funny clothes as a child, perhaps you dressed yourself. I had a hard time picking which photo to share with this big helmet on his head with his eyes peaking out, it was really quite a riot, and super cute!!

Quicky
Sometimes I have no time to really plan or think about what to take a picture of. Actually most of the time it works that way. This fall I am going to plant tons of bulbs so I have lots of flowers to photograph in the spring. They will be my fallback when I have no creative ideas or no time. So this is my summer quicky, this fall I'm sure you will see a lot of fall foliage.
